The world faces an urgent challenge. How does it tackle climate change and move to a net-zero emissions energy system while also meeting the growing demand for energy? The next decade will be shaped by 2 megatrends – the Energy Transition and Digitalisation. Both are expected to have a profound impact on the way everyone lives their lives. Innovative new technologies, including digital technologies and AI have a critical role to play in helping the world reduce our carbon footprint and achieve a net-zero emissions future.
In this session, we will explore how Shell, a 116-year-old Energy company, is working towards its target to become a net-zero emissions Energy Business by 2050. Digital technology is already transforming the way we manage the energy system day-to-day by optimizing asset performance, reducing our CO2 footprint, digitizing the customer experience, and making the transition from conventional oil & gas to renewable energy sources.
