Marcela Maldonado

Marcela is a seasoned strategic technology leader with over 25 years of experience leading engineering organizations. Marcela excels at mentoring, developing a clear strategy,  and achieving results by inspiring and empowering individuals to execute with discipline and accountability. She is passionate about innovation and solving complex problems and is known for building, transforming, and scaling resilient engineering organizations through growth, restructures, acquisitions, and integrations, with a commitment to employee growth and engagement.

Her most recent role was the Global Head of Engineering for the Portfolio Business Unit at NI (National Instruments), where she built and led distributed teams focused on R&D, Professional Services, Pre-Sales and Demand Generation initiatives. Some of her previous roles include Global Head of Program Management for Professional Services at NI where she led a team of project and program managers leading the development and deployment of custom solutions, and a leader of a systems engineering team for a professional services firm.

Marcela holds a Computer Engineering degree from the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM). She has been a speaker at several technology conferences and invited as a panelist in Hispanic Heritage Month and Women in STEM panel discussions. She is involved in volunteering as a mentor and coach to aspiring leaders and started a Lean In Circle. She is passionate about advancing K-12 STEM education and volunteers supporting the board of non-profit organizations exciting students in STEM.
