Gabriela Aldrete

Software Engineer , CAE

Gabriela works for CAE Inc. as a Software Engineer supporting the Defense and Security industry.  She participates in the development of aircraft simulators, particularly in the navigation systems of airplanes.  These state-of-the-art programs are used to develop aviation trainers utilized to instruct new pilots to fly.  The simulators mimic every aspect of a flight journey. They are an essential tool for pilots to learn how to react on every possible scenario that might occur during a flight.

Before joining CAE, Gabriela was a Chemical Engineer.  She worked for International Paper where she managed the deinking research facility. At the time, her primary task was to develop a chemical to remove ink from paper printed on laser printers.  During her journey as a chemical engineer, Gabriela also worked for Mohawk Paper as a Project engineer where she designed chemical systems.

She graduated from the University of Maryland at college park with her first Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering.  Her interest in automation and innovations lead her to return to school to obtain a second Bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Texas at Arlington.  Gabriela’s thirst for knowledge continues as she is about to finish her master’s degree in computer science from UTA.
