Q&A w/ Mona Mortazavi, Program Management Lead @ Cash App

Q&A w/ Mona Mortazavi, Program Management Lead @ Cash App

Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with us, Mona! First, please introduce yourself!

Hi! Thank you for having me. I am a Program Lead at Cash App, where I lead a team of Program Managers who ensure operational readiness and strategic alignment between our Customer Operations and Product organizations. I specialize in project and program management with a focus on process improvement. Prior to Cash App, I managed programs and teams at Google and Block, and led transformational initiatives in the Energy and Environmental industries at Direct Energy and Waste Management. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work on teams across finance, supply chain, engineering, human resources, compliance, and customer operations, which has helped me build a diverse toolkit.

What are you looking forward to at Women in Tech Texas?

I am looking forward to a few things: reconnecting with people I met at last year’s conference, meeting new people, delivering a decision-making framework workshop, and attending speaker and workshop sessions!

What would be your advice to other women in tech who are coming up in the industry?

Be the go-to problem solver. Anticipate, identify, and solve problems. The tech industry offers countless opportunities to tackle challenging and impactful problems. Whether it’s something new or existing, look for those problems and be part of the solution.

Women in Tech Texas is built on community; what advice would you give to our attendees on building your network and furthering your presence?

You choose how you show up, and this applies to everything, not just the conference. Take advantage of being at WITT to make meaningful connections and grow your network. One meaningful connection is better than ten loosely-met new LinkedIn connections. Use every opportunity during meals, workshops, and speaker events to sit with new people. Discuss what you do, the problems you are trying to solve, and your interests, and ask them about theirs.

Register for your place to join Mona Mortazavi at Women in Tech Texas on September 17 – 18 now!
